Tax preparer - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
Help individuals and families access free tax preparation services through the Nigerian Center’s IRS-supported VITA program.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing basic federal and state tax returns
Assisting taxpayers with required documentation
Conducting client interviews and reviewing tax information
Providing professional and welcoming customer service
Supporting tax preparation events during tax season
Ideal for: IRS-certified tax preparers, accounting professionals, finance students, and individuals interested in community service.
Teaching Assistant & Tutor – Igbo Language Classes
Support the preservation and promotion of Igbo language and culture by assisting instructors and students.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting classroom instruction and activities
Helping students practice pronunciation, vocabulary, and conversation skills
Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom engagement
Encouraging cultural learning and participation
Ideal for: Fluent Igbo speakers, educators, and individuals passionate about cultural preservation.
Teaching Assistant & Tutor – Hausa Language Classes
Support Hausa language learners through classroom assistance, conversation practice, and cultural engagement.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting instructors during language classes
Supporting students with language practice
Helping prepare educational materials
Promoting appreciation of Hausa culture and heritage
Ideal for: Hausa speakers, educators, and cultural ambassadors.
Teaching Assistant & Tutor – Yoruba Language Classes
Help students learn Yoruba language and connect with Nigerian culture through engaging classroom support.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with lessons and student activities
Supporting conversation practice
Helping develop learning materials
Encouraging cultural exchange and engagement
Ideal for: Yoruba speakers, teachers, and individuals passionate about language preservation.
