EVENING RECEPTION COMMEMORATING NIGERIAN AMERICAN DAY & NIGERIA’S 65TH INDEPENDENCE

WHAT:

October 1, 2025, marks Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. It is a day that has also been officially proclaimed as Nigerian American Day in Washington, DC. The Nigerian Center invites the press to an exclusive evening reception at its new home in the Capitol Hill area to mark this historic occasion. The celebration will highlight the growing contributions of Nigerian Americans to the nation’s economic, cultural, and civic life. The event will bring together senior U.S. and Nigerian government officials, community leaders, and advocates. It will also showcase the Nigerian Center’s work, from immigration legal services to cultural programming and economic empowerment initiatives.
