Program Analyst - Paralegal
We're looking for someone to help newcomers in our community pursue the American dream, through legal support!
About the Nigerian Center
The Nigerian Center was founded on a very simple premise, the next generation should not repeat our story as immigrants, and we are here to change that narrative. The Nigerian Center's mission is to promote financial inclusion and social justice for immigrants from Black-majority countries. We educate, empower, and support all immigrant families in making the United States their new home through policy advocacy, cultural programs, legal aid services, financial, entrepreneurship, and homeownership opportunities.
Job Description:
At the Nigerian Center, our 2025 theme is Leading the Culture Forward. We are committed to advancing immigrant justice and protecting the Nigerian and broader African diaspora through legal aid, advocacy, and cultural empowerment. Our work goes beyond serving recent immigrants—it embraces Black Americans, Afro-Latinos, and Afro-Caribbeans whose stories trace back to Nigeria. We are seeking a Program Analyst with a paralegal focus to join our legal services team. This role combines program coordination, client support, and paralegal responsibilities to help community members navigate complex immigration processes. The ideal candidate is organized, mission-driven, and passionate about immigrant rights.
Role and Duties:
Assist attorneys and accredited representatives with immigration filings, case management, and client communications
Draft and prepare legal documents, including USCIS forms, affidavits, and supporting materials
Conduct client intake and gather relevant case documentation
Schedule client appointments and maintain accurate case files
Support community outreach, legal clinics, and Know Your Rights workshops
Help track deadlines and ensure timely case filings
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or relevant paralegal certification
Minimum 1 year of legal or immigration services experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
Familiarity with immigration law and USCIS processes
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple cases
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Cultural humility and a commitment to immigrant and racial justice
