Nigerian Center Awarded $60,000 in Local Support to Expand Programs Serving DC and Maryland Residents

May 7, 2025 — The Nigerian Center is proud to announce it has been awarded a combined total of $60,000 in funding from the DC Mayor’s Office on African Affairs, Events DC, Prince George’s County, Maryland, and the Maryland Bar Foundation to support its Fiscal Year 2025 programs.
These funds will directly support the Center’s culturally responsive programming in key areas such as immigration legal services, financial empowerment, small business support, and cultural education. These efforts are central to the Center’s mission of fostering inclusion, opportunity, and resilience among immigrant communities.

Nigerian Center also recently released its 2025 Tax Assistance Impact Report delivered in collaboration with local government offices and community organizations.
