About the Nigerian Center
The Nigerian Center is a national civic institution advancing social justice, culture, and opportunity. The Center is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide immigration legal services through accredited representatives and attorneys. As we expand our legal services footprint to Houston, we seek a mission-aligned contract immigration attorney to support direct representation, legal supervision, and program development for immigrant communities.
Position Summary
The Part-Time Program Manager will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Nigerian Center’s Houston immigration legal services program. This role will work closely with senior immigration attorney, DOJ-accredited representatives, and community partners to manage client intake, clinic logistics, case coordination, reporting, and outreach. This position is ideal for someone with nonprofit program management experience and a strong interest in immigration legal services, community-based programs, and immigrant justice.
Role and Duties:
Coordinate legal clinics, consultations, and community outreach events
Manage scheduling for the contract immigration attorney and legal team
Oversee client intake, screening, and appointment systems
Ensure smooth day-of operations for in-person and virtual clinics
Maintain organized case tracking systems, files, and workflows
Serve as primary point of contact for clients and support case follow-up
Prepare client files and documentation for attorney review while ensuring confidentiality
Maintain program data, case records, and assist with grant reporting and metrics
Coordinate with headquarters on policies, budgets, invoices, and contractor logistics
Build partnerships with local community organizations and support outreach and Know-Your-Rights events
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, public administration, legal studies, or related field
2+ years of nonprofit or program coordination experience
Experience with immigration legal services or legal clinics strongly preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills
Experience working with diverse immigrant communities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a startup-like environment
Proficiency in Google Workspace, case management systems, and basic data tracking
Work Structure
Part-time (20–25 hours per week)
Hybrid, with in-person clinics in Houston
Occasional evening or weekend clinics
